North Avenue Beach is a classic spot for Chicago skyline views. It’s a sandy lakeside beach with a backdrop of the city. North Avenue Beach is a popular location for outdoor activities and a great place to propose or take engagement photos! If you want the beach look with an unforgettable city skyline view, North Avenue Beach is the perfect location!
There are some amazing views from Chicago’s historic bridges throughout the city. These classic bridges have been long-standing vantage points of the city. Some of our favorite bridges for the views are LaSalle Street Bridge, the DuSable Bridge and Kinzie Street Bridge.
The Wrigley Building is a skyscraper located on North Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile. The building itself is recognizable as a symbol of Chicago’s architecture and commerce. It is a favorite location to many brides, as it overlooks the Chicago River, several beautiful skyscrapers, and is right next to beautiful historic Chicago bridges!
Millennium Park is home to the word-famous “Cloud Gate,” also known as “The Bean.” The park takes up three blocks and is a place where locals and visitors alike visit for picnics, taking selfies, listening to concerts, and seeing outdoor art. Because Millennium Park is located in the heart of the city, the views are unparalleled! The skyline view from here is one of our absolute favorites. If you want your photos to leave no question that they were taken in Chicago, Millennium Park is the place to have your session!
Chicago’s largest park , Lincoln Park, is located next to Lake Michigan on the North Side of the city. There are several museums, a zoo, nature reserves, and beaches within the park. There are a few locations that offer really dreamy skyline views in the park. One of our favorite spots is the Lincoln Park Education Pavilion, also known as “The Honeycomb” by locals. It is a super unique structure that is surrounded by parkland with awesome city views. You can also get some AMAZING skyline views from the Lincoln Park Zoo Nature Boardwalk and the South Pond Bridge. There is also a castle-like structure just east of the Honeycomb!
Grant Park is another large park in Chicago, located in the Loop, right within the central business district. Millennium Park is actually technically located inside of Grant Park! You will also find the Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum Campus. You can get both lake and city views from Grant Park, making it a great place for engagement photos or other sessions! There is a beautiful trail right along the lake where you can see a full view of the city skyline.
The financial district is also located in the Chicago Loop. We love this location for photos that are closer up to some of Chicago’s famous skyscrapers. We recommend taking photos here if you are going for a city vibe in your photos!
The University of Chicago is located between the Hyde Park and Woodlawn neighborhoods of Chicago. The campus features sprawling buildings with unique architecture. The view from the University of Chicago is a unique mixture of old and new buildings that make up the culture of the city.
There are several passages and doors with beautiful ivy and foliage throughout this location!
The Chicago Theater is another Windy City landmark located in the Loop on North State Street. Not only is it immaculately designed on the inside, but the outside of the building is also classically beautiful. We love having couples take photos in front of the massive Chicago sign. You can get beautiful views of the city as a backdrop taking photos here as well!
Ping Tom Park is an urban park located in Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood on the South Side. The park is a transformed trainyard that has been turned into beautiful green space. There are lots of outdoor activities at the park that you can take advantage of, especially in the summer. The skyline view from Ping Tom Park is truly magical. You get a full view of the towering skyscrapers and awesome river views from this location.
